UK’s largest zero carbon building
Biddenham International School and Sports College had seen continued growth and success over recent years. The creation of additional quality learning space was now required by establishing a new middle school for academic years 7 and 8.
Built over three phases NetZero Buildings provided a solution that not only created much needed space, but by using innovative design was aesthetically appealing, cost effective and environmentally sound.
The completed project consisted of two mirror classroom blocks for Year 7 and a larger single building for Year 8. With a combined total area of 2,300sqm, the new buildings included interconnecting classrooms, a dining area, breakout spaces and WC facilities and communal spaces.
Creating a zero carbon building was at the forefront of every aspect of the project. By using forward-thinking innovative technology and manufacturing offsite, we were able to create a high quality build that reduce construction time on site, was cost effective and and had minimised environmental impact.
